We Helped Build the Surf Air iOS App

Surf Air is a west coast subscription-based private airline offering unlimited flights for one monthly fee. Surf Air approached Applico to build an iOS app to launch alongside a revamped member portal, which allows members to book, waitlist, tag, and essentially manage upcoming flights. The app just launched in the App Store this past week.

Approach
To build this app in app short timeframe we decided to go with a hybrid app approach. We leveraged their responsive member portal site for the primary app functions. To build on top of what the member portal offered we added push notifications for all major flight related time critical events, which required us to implement a native login screen.

Widget
This app was just beaming to have a today view extension. We designed and built one to show users their currently booked flights, waitlisted flights, and tagged flights. Users can tap on any flight to quickly see more information about them in-app.
