Will Shopify Acquire Deliverr to Bolster eCommerce Fulfillment Capabilities?
Rumors are circulating that eCommerce giant Shopify is in talks to acquire Deliverr, a fulfillment services startup that helps eCommerce sellers quickly ship products to customers. Deliverr forecasts geographically where sellers are most likely to make sales and helps sellers to stock products appropriately within Deliverr’s network of warehouses.
Shopify has been talking about bolstering its fulfillment capabilities for years and is not blind to the profits and synergies that fulfillment generates for eCommerce competitors like Amazon and Walmart. I think Deliverr is a great potential acquisition target for Shopify to improve its logistics offerings and pair with the already strong fintech services in gives sellers with ShopPay.
